Indian cricket team’s jack-of-all-trade has turned 30 on October 11, 2023. Fans and team mates alike poured in wishes for Hardik Pandya. India garnered a vehement victory against Afghanistan yesterday with a whopping eight wickets, during the team’s second game in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, adding cherries on top of Mr. Pandya’s “birthday cake”.
The Indian Cricket team’s social media platform shared a video of the team celebrating Mr. Pandya’s birthday by singing ‘happy birthday to you’ and the “batting asset” of the team cutting cake after their glorious victory. Everyone, including “King Kohli” joined in the merry making and shared lovely bites from Mr. Pandya’s chocolate birthday cake.
Earlier, before the beginning of the game, the Vice captain of Indian team cut his birthday cake from the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi and was accompanied by former batsman Gautham Gambir and commentator Jatin Sapru, as shown by Star Sports, the Official World Cup broadcaster. During the game Mr. Pandya said that this is the first time his Birthday falls on a match day and he believed “it will be enjoyable”.
Taking to X (formerly twitter), Jay Shah, the secretary of Board Of Cricket Council of India wished the cricketer with a “never-give-up” attitude, a “multitude of victories”.
