India's Tour Of Sri Lanka 2024: Team India Squad Announced, Suryakumar Yadav To Be Captain For T20I

The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad details for India’s squads for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka which is scheduled to start in the last week of July. The Men’s Selection Committee of Team India was met on Thursday and according to the squad details, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20I side and Rohit Sharma will continue as the captain of One Day International’s side. The selectors have also named Virat Kohli in the ODI squad.

Hardik Pandya has been named only in the T20I squad while KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer make their return in the ODI.

T201 Squad:

Suryakumar Yadav (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Riyan Parag, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohd. Siraj.

ODI Squad:

Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (WK), Rishabh Pant (WK), Shreyas lyer, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Riyan Parag, Axar Patel, Khaleel Ahmed, Harshit Rana.

A statement from the board said it will continue to monitor player availability and participation in the upcoming domestic cricket season, 2024-25.

Team India, under a new management led by Gautam Gambhir as head coach after the departure of Rahul Dravid, will play three T20ls and as many ODIs during their Sri Lanka visit in July and August. The T201 leg of the series, which will take place in Pallekele, kicks off on July 27 and concludes on July 30. The ODIs will be played in Colombo, starting August 02.
