Premier Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant urged the country to come together and support the India contingent in its quest for glory at Paris 2024, starting from July 26.
The Indian contingent comprises a record 117 athletes, including 70 men and 47 women, across 16 disciplines. The top athletes in their discipline will come together to better the Tokyo 2020 haul of seven medals at the Paris Games.
“Hello, India, let’s come together to support our Indian Olympic athletes who have been working tirelessly throughout the years to make our country proud. Let’s show their appreciation for their hard work as they shine on their biggest stage of the world,” Pant said in a video message posted on X.

Adding to the impressive funding of INR 470 crore allocated by the Sports Ministry, the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) honorary secretary Jay Shah announced a funding of INR 8.5 crore to support the Indian contingent who will have 95 medals at stake in the Paris Games.
“I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign,” Shah wrote.
“To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind,” he added.
The opening ceremony for Paris 2024 is slated to take place on July 26 with double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and veteran Indian paddler Sharath Kamal set to be the flagbearers for Indian contingent.
