Mehidy Hasan Dedicates Man-Of-The-Series Award To 'Martyred' Rickshaw Puller

Mehidy Hasan dedicated his Man-Of-The-Series award after sweeping the Pakistan series to the martyred citizens who lost their lives during the anti-discrimination student protest and his team management.

The Bangladesh all-rounder notched up two half-centuries and scalped 10 wickets in their 2-0 clean sweep over Pakistan.

“Most credit goes to our team management there; lots of support, and there are lots of hard workers. and I enjoy a lot you’re practicing in our country. (Team performance) Yeah, definitely. The guys are very, very happy about my performance. And they are very supportive of me, and I’m really happy, and this moment, I never forget that moment,” Mehidy Hasan Miraz said after the match.

“This is the first time I have won the Player of the Series Award on an overseas tour. You all know that recently there’s been trouble in our country. I want to dedicate this Man of the Series Award to the people who were martyred during the anti-discrimination student protest. There was one rickshaw puller who was injured and later on died. I want to gift this award to them,” Hasan added.

Bangladesh clinched the first Test by 10 wickets while they won the second match by six wickets.

The series victory was the first for Bangladesh against a team other than Zimbabwe and the West Indies.
