2003 World Championships bronze medallist Anju Bobby George has questioned the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for not considering “golden boy” Neeraj Chopra as India”s flag bearer for Paris 2024.
Earlier this month, veteran Indian shuttler Sharath Kamal was announced to be India”s flag bearer at Paris 2024 while Olympic bronze medallist MC Mary Kom was appointed Chief de Mission for the Games.
The decorated Indian long jumper took to Instagram and questioned IOA, Surprisingly, “the Indian Olympic Association did not consider our golden boy Neeraj Chopra as a flag bearer for the 2024 Olympic Games .. ????? ( All the federatins including Table tennis, yet to announce the team for Olympics) ?ultimately its Neeraj”s choice based on his own assessment of the situation.. still..why ???.. ..@weareteamindia”.
Sharath Kamal is currently ranked World No. 88. He displayed his resilience in the Tokyo 2020, taking a set off China”s World No.1 Ma Long in Round 3. The veteran has won multiple medals in the Commonwealth Games, including seven golds.

Meanwhile, 2012 London Olympics bronze medallist Gagan Narang has been appointed as the head of the shooting village operations for Paris 2024. The Olympic Games will run from July 26 to August 11.
