Football fans reportedly clashed in several parts of London and Paris after France secured a 2–0 quarter‑final victory over Morocco during the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals held yesterday. Crowds flooded the streets moments after the match, creating chaos and shifting the atmosphere from noisy celebration to confrontation.

According to reports, the confrontation led to police intervention, which further worsened the situation, as fans began clashing with the police officials. Bystanders lingering close to police lines and filming clashes on their phones, which is now doing round on social media.

Police officers deployed in significant numbers were forced to confront what was described as a volatile crowd. Kylian Mbappe scored the opening goal, while Ousmane Dembele extended Les Blues’ lead, taking the French team to the semi-final. Over 10,000 police were deployed and more than 120 people were detained, as per reports.

Videos showed cattered clashes also broke out near Les Halles in Paris, with some groups gathering around the police vehicle screaming and flashing their mobile phones.
