Arsenal has secured the services of Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The 29-year-old winger brings a wealth of experience to the club, having claimed every major domestic honour during his career, including four Premier League titles and five Football League Cups.
Sterling’s football journey began at Queens Park Rangers before he joined Liverpool’s academy, making his senior debut in 2012. That same year, he earned his first cap for the England national team. His success soared after moving to Manchester City in 2015, where he won all of his Premier League titles and numerous other accolades, including the EFL Cup, FA Cup, and Community Shield. In 2022, he transferred to Chelsea.
The Jamaica-born English player’s move to the Gunners comes after the newly appointed Chelsea boss made it clear that Sterling would find it difficult to get playing time in Stanford Bridge. The move has also paved the way for Sterling to rejoin Mikel Arteta, who was assistant manager at Manchester City.
Sterling’s individual achievements include being named FWA Footballer of the Year in the 2018/19 season and being voted into the PFA Team of the Year. On the international stage, Sterling has been capped 82 times for England, contributing significantly to their runner-up finish at Euro 2020.
