WATCH: Burj Khalifa Turns Purple After KKR's IPL 2024 Triumph; Thanks To SRK Stardom

The iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai turned purple in celebration of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR”s) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 triumph, thanks to its co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan”s stardom and massive fan following in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The three-time IPL champions took to their X handle to post a glimpse of the iconic building, studded with purple lights, along with an SRK poster and “Congrats” written under it.

“View from the top 👉 It’s all PURPLE! 💜,” KKR wrote in a post on X.

Earlier, Shah took to his social media accounts to express his feelings for the franchise after the IPL 2024 triumph. He made special mentions to KKR coaching staff, including Gautam Gambhir, Chandrakant Pandit, Abhishek Nayyar, besides thanking the leadership of Shreyas Iyer.

“To my boys…. my team…. my champs….”these blessed candles of the night” …. My Stars…of KKR,” SRK said on his social media accounts.

“I cannot do a lot of things and you cannot do them all either…but together we manage most of them. That’s what @KKRiders stood for. Simply being together. Beyond the ability and guidance of @GautamGambhir ….the earnestness of Chandu, the love of @abhisheknayar1 & leadership of @ShreyasIyer15 … the dedication of @rtendo27 , Bharat Arun @1crowey & @Numb3z … this team is built on no hierarchy just pure respect for collaboration. GG said if u can’t support a single vision as a team….u are leading to a division in the team. Each player understood that. Young and old. The Trophy is not a testament of having the best players in the team….but a proof of each player being the best for the team. Boys you are all made of Star stuff!! Love you all and don’t let the dancing stop! Also, so happy and thankful for each and every KKR fan and I hope all around the world youngsters learn that Tough times don’t last….Finally Tough and Happy teams do! Korbo…Lorbo…Jeetbo….Always. See u all at the stadia in 2025,” he added.

In the IPL 2024 final, SRH fell like a pack of cards as KKR bowlers Mitchell Starc (2/14), Harshit Rana (2/24) and Andre Russell (3/19) ran through their batting line-up to bundle them out to 113 runs. It was, incidentally, the lowest total recorded in an IPL final beating the previous lowest total recorded by CSK at 125/9 against MI in the IPL 2013 final.

In response, KKR opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39) and Venkatesh Iyer (52 not out) played key knocks to guide their side over the line in 10.3 overs.
