Mobile companies are launching more powerful and top notch models every year yet high battery capacity was always on the flimsy side that nobody was able to create a technological leap when it comes to battery life. In this regard, Chinese phone brand OnePlus said that they are on the road to introduce a new battery tech called ‘Glacier Battery.’
According to the reports, OnePlus said that the new battery technology will aid in fixing problems like frequent charging, low battery anxiety and the need to carry power banks. It was developed in collaboration with CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited), one of the giant battery manufacturers and technology companies in the world. The mobile brand OnePlus stated that it will share more details about the new battery technology on June 20 2024.

Currently, it is not available for all models and there is no data regarding which phones will be the first to feature the new technology, but it was reported from various sources that OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will be the most likely one to start with. The upcoming smartphone is said to pack a 6,100mAh battery and will have a dual-cell design with 2,970mAh batteries according to the Digital Chat Station.
Despite the huge battery the tipster adds Ace 3 Pro less than 9 mm thick and can be charged to 100 per cent in 30 minutes. It looks like the new battery tech will help create smaller and more powerful batteries than the older ones which are currently available in the market. This could be a much needed discovery in the smartphone world where the capacity of mobile phone battery has been a chokepoint for the brands as they experiment to leverage performance these years.
