Apple has introduced two new MacBook Air laptops featuring the latest M3 chip. The latest MacBook Air models, with 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes, were unveiled on March 4. Apple claims that the MacBook Air with the M3 chip is up to 60 percent faster than the model with the M1 chip. Apple”s latest laptops are likely to boost the company’s sales.
According to Apple, the inclusion of an upgraded Neural Engine in M3 makes the MacBook Air “the world’s best consumer laptop for AI.” Both the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops feature a thin and light design. The iPhone maker also claims up to 18 hours of battery life. The latest MacBook Air will be available in four colours. This includes midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver.
“Compared to a PC laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor, MacBook Air delivers up to 2x faster performance, up to 50 percent faster web browsing, and up to 40 percent longer battery life,” said Apple in a statement. Apple said that the refreshed MacBook Air lineup will be available to preorder in 28 countries, including India, and it will go on sale on March 8 through the Apple Store and Apple authorised resellers.
The price of the 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at Rs 1,14,900. On the other hand, the 15-inch MacBook Air comes with a starting price of Rs 1,34,900. According to the company, the latest MacBook Air is the first Apple product to be made with 50 percent recycled content.
The new MacBook Air with M3 chip features a 13.6- or 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display with up to 500 nits of brightness. It also has Wi-Fi 6E support, which claims to deliver download speeds that are up to twice as fast as the previous generation. The new models are also equipped with MagSafe charging and two Thunderbolt ports, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. A 1080p FaceTime HD camera is another highlight of the MacBook Air.
“MacBook Air is our most popular and loved Mac, with more customers choosing it over any other laptop. And today it gets even better with the M3 chip and new capabilities,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, in a statement.
