The Apple Vision Pro is all set to hit the US market on February 2. Ahead of the launch, the tech giant announced that more than 600 new apps and games are being readied for the mixed reality headset. The iPhone maker also said that the new spatial apps built for Apple Vision Pro will join more than one million already compatible apps available on the App Store.

“When Apple Vision Pro launches tomorrow, users will be able to explore more than 1 million apps, including 600 apps made specifically for Vision Pro!” wrote Apple CEO Tim Cook on his X handle on February 1. “The creativity of developers is amazing, and this is just the beginning. Endless possibilities await!” added Tim Cook. The Apple Vision Pro, powered by visionOS, is the tech giant”s first new product launch since the AirPods in 2016.

Apple says that its first mixed reality headset features ultra-high-resolution displays that deliver more pixels than a 4K TV for each eye. Notably, the device uses micro-OLED technology to pack 23 million pixels into two displays. Apple also claims that the Apple Vision Pro is an ideal productivity tool for everyday tasks. Users will be able to pair a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad with Vision Pro.

The base model of Apple Vision Pro, with 256GB of storage, comes with a price tag of $3,499. The company started accepting pre-orders for Vision Pro on January 19 in the US. At the same time, Apple has not yet announced when this device will launch in other markets, including India. On January 16, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo posted in his blog that Apple may launch its Vision Pro headset outside the United States before the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Notably, the company unveiled the Vision Pro during WWDC in June 2023.
