Apple Unveils Latest iPhone 16e With AI Capabilities, Starting At ...
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook introduced the new iPhone 16e on Wednesday, which will cost $599 (approximately ₹59,900) and feature Apple Intelligence.
This new iPhone brings AI features like notification summaries and writing recommendations in English to Apple’s most affordable iPhone model.

In the coming months, the company plans to expand these features to other languages, including Chinese, Portuguese, and localised English for India.
The iPhone 16e is designed to rival other affordable smartphones, such as the Google Pixel 8A and Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE.
The iPhone 16e does not have a home button or Touch ID. Instead, it uses Face ID, a facial recognition system available on most iPhones since 2017.

This new phone replaces the iPhone SE and is the first update to Apple’s lowest-priced smartphone line since 2022. The iPhone 16e has a durable aerospace-grade aluminium enclosure, available in black or white, and supersized battery life, lasting up to 6 hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than the iPhone SE.
The iPhone 16e also features the latest-generation chip, making it fast and smooth, and a 4-core GPU for demanding mobile games. The phone has a redesigned 48MP Fusion camera with a 2x telephoto lens, allowing for stunning super-high-resolution images and 4K video in Dolby Vision.
Also, with the powerful A18 chip, the iPhone 16e provides an extraordinary iOS experience and ensures that the phone will be ready for future updates.

Apple is introducing the new iPhone at a critical juncture, as the company’s iPhone business has been in a slump, with sales down 2 per cent from their peak of $205.5 billion in 2022.
Tim Cook has chalked up some of the iPhone sales decline due to economic uncertainty and supply chain disruptions.
