
CAFIT Announces New Leadership Team For 2025–2027
Calicut Forum for IT (CAFIT), the prominent non-profit body representing IT professionals and companies in the Malabar region, has announced its new leadership team for the term 2025–2027.
The forum, known for fostering collaboration and innovation within the IT sector, revealed its newly elected office bearers and core committee members earlier this week.
The new office bearers include Rifath Rahman as President, Kalathil Karthik as Vice President, Prajeesh K. K. as Secretary, Mujthaba as Joint Secretary, Nidhin as Treasurer, and Shiyas Muhammed as Joint Treasurer.
Alongside them, the core committee comprises Abdul Gafoor K. V., Anand R. Krishnan, Akhil Krishna, Vijitha T., Fasna K. K., Abdul Majeed P., Ajay M. A., Aslam Bughari, Muhammed Niyas C., Arjun, and Amjad Ali E. M., bringing together a diverse set of professionals from across the IT spectrum.

Speaking after the announcement, newly elected President Rifath Rahman expressed optimism about the path ahead. “CAFIT has always been a symbol of collaboration and innovation for the IT ecosystem in Malabar.
The leadership transition comes at a crucial time for the region’s IT industry, as Malabar steadily builds its reputation as an emerging technology hub.
The new team has outlined a series of priorities aimed at strengthening this vision. These include promoting Calicut as a premier IT hub for global businesses, mentoring and guiding startups, and providing structured support for IT entrepreneurs.
CAFIT also plans to conduct workshops on emerging technologies, management practices, and industry trends, ensuring that professionals in the region stay updated with global standards.
Additionally, the body intends to drive joint marketing initiatives by participating in national and international exhibitions, creating greater visibility for Malabar’s IT sector on a global stage.
