Google has rolled out five major upgrades to Chrome’s address bar. The new improvements are expected to help users browse even faster in Google Chrome, the top internet browser in the world with a global market share of 63.56 percent. The new upgrades include smarter autocompletion and automatic typo corrections.

With the new autocompletion feature, the Google Chrome address bar will autocomplete URLs based on any word that a user previously used to search for a website. Earlier, the Chrome browser would only autocomplete URLs in the address bar if the user typed the beginning of one correctly. For example, if a user searches for “flights” and ends up on Google Flights earlier, Chrome will now autocomplete the Google Flights URL when that particular user searches for “flights” again. Automatic typo correction is another major upgrade to the browser. If a user misspells a URL name in the address bar, Chrome will now detect those typos and show suggestions based on previously visited websites by the user. Google informed that this upgrade will be available for Chrome on desktop, Android, and iOS.

Google Chrome will now suggest popular websites to users even if they have never visited them or mistyped the URL. Google says that this feature will be helpful when a user is searching for a website that was recommended by a friend. Also, Chrome users can now search within their bookmark folders right from the Chrome address bar. Users just need to add the folder name in the search and can see suggestions from that collection. Google also announced that the desktop address bar is now easier to read as the visual layout has improved. This will also help the address bar to provide faster results.
