Google further shared details of 44 security bugs that have been fixed in this month’s Pixel update bulletin.

Google has released security patches for vulnerabilities affecting its Pixel devices. The company shared that at least one of the security bugs was being exploited in targeted attacks as a zero-day while urging users to implement the fixes. The security bug could be used to elevate privileges in the Pixel firmware and has been rated a high-severity security issue.

Users can update their devices by heading to settings, then clicking Security and Privacy go to System and Updates, Security Update and tap to install the available updates and restart the device to ensure the security patch is applied.

Google further shared details of 44 security bugs that have been fixed in this month’s Pixel update bulletin.  seven have been identified as issues that could be used to escalate privileges. Such vulnerabilities are considered critical as they can be used by threat actors to compromise user security by targeting various subcomponents of the device’s software.

Pixel devices receive security and bug fixes that are separate from the standard monthly patches sent to all Android devices manufactured by all other OEMs.

The rest of the patch affects other important components on the devices, such as the Pixel Firmware fingerprint sensor. It even fixes a handful of Qualcomm and Qualcomm closed-source components.

Developers for GrapheneOS, a unique version of Android that is more focused on security, initially found the flaw, In a recent post on X it was stated, “The team believes non-Pixel phones probably won’t receive the patch until the launch of Android 15. If you don’t get the new operating system, the EoP bug probably won’t get removed.” Earlier in the year, Google fixed a vulnerability in its Pixel devices that was being exploited by forensic firms to unlock phones without a PIN and access data.
