Google announced a major upgrade to its Bard AI chatbot. With the new upgrade, Google Bard will be able to understand a YouTube video”s content and respond to user requests for information. As Bard”s ability to analyze YouTube videos increased, it became useful for users who work with video content regularly.

The latest feature on Bard aims to provide deeper engagement with YouTube videos. “We’ve heard you want deeper engagement with YouTube videos. So we’re expanding the YouTube Extension to understand some video content so you can have a richer conversation with Bard about it,” wrote Google on Bard”s experiment update page on November 21. Google is making efforts to integrate new AI and social experiences into its products. In September, Google announced the Bard Extensions. On that occasion, Google said that Bard is getting integrated with Google apps and services for more helpful responses. With these extensions, Bard can explore and show relevant information to the users from the Google tools they use every day, like Gmail, Google Maps, and Drive.

In October, Google Bard added the “Respond in Real Time” feature to the platform. With this, Bard users will receive the responses to their questions in real time. Google Bard, which was introduced on February 6, is powered by Google’s next-generation language model, Palm 2 (Pathways Language Model). Google launched its AI chatbot on the market to compete against OpenAI’s ChatGPT, backed by Microsoft. As demand for artificial intelligence (AI) is surging, Google and Microsoft are at the top of the race for developing enhanced AI-powered chatbots.
