Have you ever wondered how Google CEO Sundar Pichai begins his day? In a recent conversation with Wired, Sundar Pichai revealed that he begins his day by reading. Notably, the Alphabet CEO is not reading a book or newspaper in the morning. Instead, Sundar Pichai reads a tech website.
Sundar Pichai revealed that he begins his day by reading tech news on a website called Techmeme. Launched in 2005 by Gabe Rivera, Techmeme gathers up the biggest tech headlines from around the globe, with links to the original articles and concise summaries. Apart from Sundar Pichai, tech leaders including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram”s head, Adam Mosseri, are also regular visitors to Techmeme. A CNBC report earlier revealed that former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella are also readers of this website.
Techmeme founder Gabe Rivera, who worked as an engineer at Intel before launching Techmeme, told Business Insider that the website registers hundreds and thousands of visitors every month. “Techmeme is the first read for execs in tech everywhere because we”re dead set on providing the “executive summary” experience they demand,” said Gabe Rivera, as quoted by Business Insider.
He also added that there are no popups, videos, or intrusive ads on Techmeme. The report mentioned that Silicon Valley’s favorite news aggregation site is also a popular read among investors. According to the Techmeme website, it was an automated news curation service, and in 2008, they introduced human editors to complete the editorial process.
