Apple, the Cupertino-based tech company has released its iOS 18 Beta 4 phase to developer testers to check its performance before its launch. But Apple AI will not be available anytime soon. The major change is in the control centre, enhanced with several features. iOS 18 Beta 4 updated the Alarm and Stopwatch icons in the control centre adding a new Control Menu in the camera settings.
The iOS 18 announced a new flagship UI which is available on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus this was only available on iPhones 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max before. Now the users can mix two modes dark and light that enables dark mode widgets in light mode usage. iOS 18 Beta 4 adds a new iCloud menu in settings. Previously, it was accessible only through the Apple Account.
Here is how you install the iOS 18 Beta 4 on your Apple device:
- You need an Apple ID
- Enroll the ID in Apple’s developer’s program by visiting the company Developer website
- Open the settings app on your phone and click general
- Click on software update
- Search for the iOS Beta in the update section and click ‘update now.’
- When you download the software tap on ‘Install Now’ and wait for the device to restart
- Voila! iOS 18 is ready to use

The much-awaited Apple Intelligence is not available in the new update as it is anticipated to roll out during the Apple event in September. However, there will be significant changes after installation that the user might notice the redesigned Control Centre introduces a new group of controls accessible with a swipe-up gesture, showing connected home devices and allowing for quick control customisation. Controls are also accessible from the lock screen, and the Action Button can invoke these controls.
