WhatsApp has introduced a new stable iOS update to the App Store. The latest version of WhatsApp is very helpful for iPhone users, as they can share photos and videos without compromising in terms of quality and resolution. iOS users can share original-quality photos and videos as documents, and they do not want to worry about compression or quality loss.
The Meta-owned platform has included this feature in the recently released 23.24.73 update for iOS on the App Store. WhatsApp has now included a dedicated option, named “Choose Photo or Video,” within the “Documents.” To use this feature, WhatsApp users need to click on the “+” icon in a chat, tap “Document,” and then tap on “Choose Photo or Video.” WhatsApp rolled out this feature as several users raised concerns to the quality of shared media on the platform. Users need to note that sharing original-quality media files can result in higher data consumption. Also, the messaging platform permits users to send files of up to 2GB in size.
WhatsApp mentioned in its changelog that the latest feature will be progressively rolled out over the upcoming weeks. This indicates that some users may not receive this feature immediately. Since September, WhatsApp has been testing this feature on Android. Meta-owned WhatsApp has not given any clarification on when Android will receive this feature. In August, WhatsApp introduced the HD photo sharing feature for all users. The platform also rolled out a feature that will let users share videos in HD quality.
