Meta is expanding Instagram”s creator marketplace feature. The creator marketplace, a hub for brands and creators to connect and collaborate around partnership opportunities, will now be available in eight new markets, including India. The social media platform started testing this feature in 2022, and it was initially available only in the United States.
Meta said that this significant expansion will help more creators and brands work together on partnerships. Apart from India, creators and brands from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Brazil will be able to join the creator marketplace. Meta mentioned in a blog post that Chinese export brands will also be invited to connect with onboarded creators in countries outside of China.
In addition to expanding access, Meta also announced that it will begin testing machine learning-based recommendations that use Instagram data, and it is expected to help brands easily discover creators who are the best fit for their campaigns. Apart from these recommendations, brands can search for creators, filtering for creator and audience attributes. Over the coming months, eligible brands will be able to access these recommendations on Instagram’s creator marketplace in Meta Business Suite.
Creators can access the marketplace feature from their professional dashboard in the Instagram app, and brands can join it via Meta Business Suite. Creators can indicate brands and interests relevant to them and can also make a portfolio to spotlight what makes them unique. There will be a dedicated Partnership Messages folder at the top of the Primary tab, and creators will receive brand messages through this. According to Meta, this feature helps brands find the right creators and helps creators get discovered by brands.
