PM Modi On WhatsApp Channel, Many Others Follow

WhatsApp”s new “Channel” feature has grabbed special attention, especially from celebrities, as it enables users to launch a one-way broadcast channel to connect with a large number of subscribers at once. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first prominent figure among the Indian politicians to launch a Channel, with an image taken from the new Parliament Building.

Many other celebrities including actors Katrina Kaif, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Leone, Mohanlal, and Mammootty have also launched Channels to reach out to their audience.

Key Features of WhatsApp Channels

  • Enhanced directory: Users can find channels to follow that are automatically filtered based on their country. They can also view channels that are new, most active, and popular based on follower count.
  • Separate section: To distinguish between regular chats and Channels, WhatsApp has created a separate section for the latter. By default, Channels are filtered by country, prioritizing content from your locality. However, you can customize your experience by filtering updates based on newness or followers.
  • Interactivity: Channels promote interactivity by allowing users to add emoji reactions and forward messages to individual and group chats.
  • Links: If the user forwards an Update to chats or groups, it will include a link back to the channel so people can find out more.

How to Join PM Modi”s WhatsApp Channel

  1. Open WhatsApp on your Android or iOS phone and go to the Updates tab.
  2. Click on the Find Channel option and search for “Narendra Modi.”
  3. You will see PM Modi”s channel, which is available to follow.

With the introduction of the Channels feature, WhatsApp has gained an edge over its peers, such as Telegram and Discord. Channels offer a one-to-many messaging format, catering to brands, celebrities, and a range of other entities wishing to disseminate updates to a broader audience. Earlier, the usage of Channels had been restricted to some areas, but it is now available to all users globally.
