The World’s 2023 Google Search History: What Is The Most Searched Word In Google; Israel-Hamas War Tops The List

According to a release by the California-based tech giant Google, the continuing Israel-Hamas war topped the most searched news list of 2023. The search trend of the war was followed by the searches about the Titanic-bound submersible following its implosion in June 2023 as it had become a hot topic of discussion then. The list then noted the third most searched trend as the catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey and Syria in February, in which 50,783 people lost their lives, while over one Lakh suffered injuries.

When it comes to the most searched person on Google, the release titled “Year in Search” showed that Damar Hamlin, an American football safety for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League was Google”s top searched person in 2023. Hamlin had experienced a near-death cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field during this year’s January 2 (Monday) Night Football game. He had however celebrated his comeback later, reinforcing discussion on the two occurrences. Then the American actor Jeremy Renner followed the list as he overcame a serious snowplow accident in the beginning of 2023.

In the world of entertainment area, the movie “Barbie” conquered Google search”s movie trends followed by the Barbenheimer co-pilot “Oppenheimer” and the Indian thriller “Jawan.” Across the TV shows, “The Last of Us,” “Wednesday” and “Ginny and Georgia” became the most googled shows.

However, in India, Chandrayaan-3 was the most searched news story, garnering the interest of the people to search online. Under the term “What is” category, G-20, UCC and ChatGPT were the most searched keywords. In the “near me” category, ‘coding class near me’ was the most searched term, while the term ‘gym near me’ followed.

However, Google’s roundup of 2023’s top global search came after Wikipedia last week announced its year-end list of the top entries, which had shown ChatGPT being on the top.
