Uber, Nvidia Partner To Deploy Robotaxis With Autonomous Vehicles By 2027
Uber Technologies, a US multinational transportation and ride-hailing company, has tied up with Nvidia Corp. technology to develop a fleet of 100,000 autonomous vehicles, offering hailable robotaxis to consumers.
The Nvidia powered autonomous vehicles are expected to bring down the transportation cost to the consumers. In a statement, Nvidia, the US tech firm, on Tuesday said that the companies expect the expansion to start in 2027.

Earlier this year, the two companies struck a partnership deal, with Uber agreeing to offer some of its driving data to help improve Nvidia’s artificial intelligence models and chip technology. The carmakers would use technology assistance to develop autonomous vehicles.
Nvidia unveiled a new technology platform – Nvidia Drive AGX Hyperion 10 – on Tuesday as part of its GTC conference held in Washington DC. The technology allows manufacturers to equip their cars with hardware and sensors that can work with compatible autonomous-driving software.

Stellantis NV will be among the first automakers to deliver at least 5,000 Nvidia-powered robotaxis for Uber’s operations in the US and internationally, as per the collaboration deal.
