WhatsApp Rolls Out New User Interface For Android Beta Testers

Meta-owned WhatsApp has started rolling out its new User Interface (UI) for few Android Beta testers. The revamped interface was spotted on the Android beta version 2.23.20.10 of the app. The interface comes with new icons and it also features a new green colour as the predominant theme for both light and dark modes.

The instant messaging platform is constantly trying to improve its user experience in line with Google”s Material Design 3 guidelines. The new features in the latest interface also incorporates with Material Design 3. The updated icons are expected to provide an improved contemporary and visually pleasing experience for the users. In the new update, there is a white bar at the top, with the “WhatsApp” text in green. Earlier, it was WhatsApp”s iconic green-coloured top bar in the main chat list and inside individual chats. WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is also offering a fresh color look for chat bubbles and the floating action button.

Apart from the colour updates, WhatsApp has also replaced the icons for voice and video calls inside the chats. All these updates are currently available to a limited number of beta testers only. More users will be able to experience this update soon. WhatsApp is making improvements constantly to stay up-to-date with design trends. Earlier, reports came that the platform was working to unveil a custom password feature for protected chat folders. With this feature, named “secret code”, WhatsApp is trying to provide an additional layer of security for its users.
