WhatsApp will stop functioning on over 35 smartphones from companies like Apple, Huawei, Samsung, LG, Motorola and Lenovo. It was stated in a report by CanalTech. This could be a whack on the head since most people change their phone at least using for 5 years or until it is damaged, report states.
Users have to upgrade to a newer version to access WhatsApp or else it may halt updating and working on old models. Since LG and Huawei laid off their business in India, people still use their phones and are now forced to change their mobile devices to use the app.

Apart from that, other major apps will also halt functioning in some models which possess similar policies and the first blow is on the head of WhatsApp since it is used by three billion people. Phone models like the Apple iPhone 6 (all models) and iPhone SE couldn’t access WhatsApp even after the phone update.
Similarly Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3 Mini and Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Note 3 N9005 LTE, Galaxy S3 Mini VE, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Mini I9190, Galaxy S4 Mini I9195 LTE, and Galaxy S4 Zoom will be in trouble. Lenovo 46600, Lenovo A858T, Lenovo P70, and Lenovo S890 are in line along with LG Optimus 4X HD P880, Optimus G, Optimus G Pro, and Optimus L7 models. Motorola’s Moto G and Moto X will stop WhatsApp from functioning in these models. Users have to upgrade to new versions to avail full access to WhatsApp.
The major reasons for this kibosh was due to the software and hardware compatibility. App developers like Meta (parent company of Facebook) constantly update software versions for more enhanced performance and functionality and users have to upgrade their smartphones to the Android 5 operating system (Lollipop) or iOS 12. Additionally, WhatsApp may stop working on Android budget phones running older versions of operating systems.
