Yousef Abu al-Rish, Under Secretary of Gaza Ministry of Health spoke about the bombing that happened at Al Ahli Hospital. He said the hospital received a call from Israel who said they had “warned” the hospital about the attack with two missiles. They said they “resorted to hitting the hospital with two warning missiles because no one picked up when they called the hospital”.
Middle East Eye, a pro-Palestine social media handle, shared the video of the Mr. Yousef speaking by standing amidst the bodies of those killed in the bombing at the hospital. The video shows one of the Palestinian sitting right in front of Mr. Yousef holding a baby bathed in blood. Mr. Yousef said that the hospital was hit with two shells on October 14 at 8:30 pm. He showed pictures of two shells and a picture showing the effects of the shelling. And next morning, the Israeli Defence Force called the Director of the hospital, Dr. Maher Ayyad and told him, “you were warned yesterday by two shells” and asked why the hospitals were not evacuated.
They also added that the warning through the missile was because no one picked the call when the Israeli Forces called to “warn” about the bombing, according to what is said in the video. Mr. Yousef said that the only place where warnings about the possible bombing given through missiles would be Gaza. Dr. Yousef criticised the Israel about being not ashamed of the “criminal” activities they do and spreading them through all the media channels. He also added that the Israel has “threatened all the hospitals” especially in the north of Gaza.
The Al Ahli hospital has been sheltering thousands of wounded and the refugees who have been displaced from their home. More than 500 was reported dead in the bombing. Israel accused the incident on Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Palestinian officials accused the incident on Israel.
