Al Jazeera Journalist Ismail al-Ghoul, His Cameraman Killed In Gaza

Adding two more fatality of the media professionals working in the war-torn Gaza Strip,  Al Jazeera Arabic journalist Ismail al-Ghoul and his cameraman Rami al-Refee have been killed in an Israeli air raid.

The latest targeting of the journalist occurred in a Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City on Wednesday, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported. The journalists were reporting from the surroundings of the Gaza house of the Ismail Haniyeh, assassinated in Iran early this morning.

Talking about the network’s journalists killed in Israeli air strike, Al Jazeera Arabic managing editor, Mohamed Moawad, said that they were killed because of their courageous coverage of the events in the northern gaza.

In a post on X, the managing editor remembered the journalist, saying that Ismail was renowned for his professionalism and dedication, bringing the world’s attention to the suffering and atrocities committed in Gaza, especially in Al-Shifa Hospital and the northern neighborhoods.

“Without Ismail, the world would not have seen the devastating images of these massacres. Ismail was a determined journalist who refused to succumb to hunger, illness, and the loss of his brother,” Mohamed Moawad wrote, adding that he relentlessly covered the events and delivered the reality of Gaza to the world through Al Jazeera.

He also asserted that Ismail fulfilled his mission to his people and his homeland, adding that “shame on on those who have failed the civilians, journalists, and humanity.”
