Rabbi Meir Mazuz, controversial Israeli rabbi has expressed his objection to sending humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. Israeli Channel 7 also reported about Rabbi Mazus”s difference with US President Joe Biden on his call to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Jewish priest said: “We must tell Biden this: You are right, if we were dealing with people, we would send humanitarian aid to Gaza, but we are dealing with animals,” reports AA news agency.

Rabbi Mausz is known for his controversial opinions and fanatic viewpoints. Earlier he had supported the actions of Baruch Goldstein, an Israeli terrorist who attacked Muslim worshippers at the Ibrahim Mosque in Hebron in 1994. Rabbi argued that Mr Goldstein had “prevented a very great danger” with the terrorist attack.

Aged 78, Rabbi Mazuz is considered as the spiritual leader of the Shas Party, the largest ultra-Orthodox Jewish party formed by Sephardic Jews. The party played an influential role in the most ruling coalitions in Israel since 1984. At present, it is the fourth largest party in the country and is a part of the coalition government headed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with 11 deputies in the Parliament.

In the similar vein, while mentioning the matter of complete siege on Gaza, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said before: “We are fighting human animals and we act accordingly.”

Due to compulsion from Mr Biden, Israel agrees for a four-hour humanitarian “pauses” each day in Gaza so as to permit humanitarian aid to move into the area and enable civilians to escape from the conflict zone to south.

As the Israel-Hamas war enters Day 36, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 11,070 Palestinians, have been killed since October 7, and according to Israel over 1,00,000 Palestinians have fled southwards in the last two days.
