Delving in to the nuances of magics of Arabian instruments and holding high the true texture of Arabian music, the official composer of Qatar Airways Group, Dana Al Fardan has brought in another gem to the list of onboard theme songs, “The Ascent”. The song is now available with Oryx One inflight Entertainment on Qatar Airways.
“The Ascent” marks the trilogy of earlier two onboard theme songs, “The Awakening” and “The Dawn”. The new onboard theme song, performed by Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, is set to give a relaxing and unforgettable travel experience to their passengers.
Dana has put effort in sewing Arabian instruments like Ney ( Arabic wind instrument) and Rababa ( Arabic bowed string instrument ) with classic piano, violin, viola and cello, similar to her previous songs.
“As a composer, I really want to capture the sounds from my country and explore the nuances of different Arabic instruments, rhythmic patterns and flourishes. The idea is to preserve the authenticity of one style of sound and build it into another in a way that fits without one having to accomodate the other by deconstructing itself”, Said Dana.
“Music is a universal language and, at Qatar Airways we have chosen a theme song that uplifts the passengers and transcends them to a wonderful destination”, Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker. He also added that he is proud of Dhana Al Fardan for not only showcasing true Qatari cultures through sophisticated arts but for her onboard theme songs which has become synonymous to Qatar Airways.
Apart from being available on Oryx One inflight Entertainment platform of Qatar Airways, The Ascent trilogy will be accesible to all major streaming platforms from September 10.
