Dubai Police Crack Down On Teenagers' Unsafe Bike Riding In Residential Areas During Ramadan
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dubai Police have warned teenagers against riding motorbikes and recreational bikes inside residential neighbourhoods especially in the hours following Iftar during Ramadan.
The police said that the rising trend among the riders poses serious safety risks to riders and residents alike, while also disturbing public comfort in family communities in the residential neighbourhoods. The officials pointed out that several young riders are taking to the streets without without complying with safety requirements.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police said that the bike ride expose them o the risk of being run over or colliding with vehicles and pedestrians, especially in family-oriented areas with a high presence of children and senior citizens.

The ride also disrupts residents during a month of Ramadan, often spent as calm evenings and family time.

The police directed parents to play an active role by preventing their children from riding motorbikes or recreational bikes on public roads and within residential communities. The moves follows after the police received reports related to such behaviour on the Dubai Police smart app.
