
India Condemns Israeli Attack On Qatar
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticised Israel’s attack on Qatar, calling it a violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar. Notably, Israel conducted an attack on Hamas leadership in Doha, killing 5 Hamas members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, and 1 Qatari security force member.
While urging a need to resolve issues with dialogue and diplomacy PM Modi wrote on X, “Spoke with Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and expressed deep concern at the attacks in Doha. India condemns the violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly State of Qatar. We support resolution of issues through dialogue and diplomacy, and avoiding escalation. India stands firmly in support of peace and stability in the region, and against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations”.

As per the reports, an Israeli military official, the attacks were carried out to eliminate senior leaders of Hamas under the operation ‘Summit of Fire’.
However, the attacks happened when peace talks were being conducted between Hamas and Qatar’s officials, as Doha is mediating negotiations between Israel and Hamas since the October 7 war started.

The attack targeted Khalil al-Hayya, the Hamas exiled leader and main negotiator, who took the ranks after Israel assassinated Yahya Sinwar in Gaza and Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last year.
Notalby, Qatar has hosted Hamas’ political office since 2012 at US request, as per the Qatari officials.
Qatar has condemned the Israel’s attack calling it a ‘State terrorism’ by Netanyahu. The recent attack has drawn worldwide condemnation from Saudi Arabia in harshest terms.
