Among the 12 entries shortlisted in the final round, the competition was divided into four categories. Sulthana won the award in the “Best Youth-Made App” category.

In the competition, Sulthana had introduced the allergy-detecting and diet-conditioning app called ‘BieBite’. The app also brings all the UAE grocery applications together as well. Primarily, by using AI and barcode scanning, the app detects food items that could be harmful or allergic to the individual by analysing the data provided to the app initially. Aside from the detection, the app also suggests alternatives food ingredients available in the UAE market as well.

Sulthana said that the app is mainly built for the residents and citizens residing in the UAE, as she found that many people residing in the country are facing cardiovascular diseases and several kinds of allergies. Though initially she planned to name the app ‘Safebite’, she had found in the final stage that the name was already used by another company, and thus, with the help of her mother, the app name was changed to ‘BieBite’.
