“Resistance Will Continue”: Hamas Leader Khaled Mishal Addresses Pro-Palestine Rally In Kerala

Edited by Fathimathu Shana

As Israel continue to pummel Gaza Strip with unbridled bombing campaigns without being questioned for flying all the international rules, laws and humanitarian concerns, world leaders are still holding talks behind closed doors maneuvering negotiations to declare cease fire. But the world seems restless. Hundreds and thousands are taking to street in protest against the international crimes committed by Israel occupation force.

During one such pro-Palestine rally organized by Solidarity Youth Movement, Hamas resistance group leader Khaled Mishal virtually participated and addressed Keralites. The rally was titled as “Raise against Zionist-Hinduist racism”. The meeting was held at Town Hall on October 27, Friday.

During the meeting Mr. Misha has called for protest to erupt internationally against the American imperialism and accused America of “complicit in the atrocities unleashed by the Zionists against the Palestinians.”

He also said that “brothers in Gaza” need humanitarian and financial aid from the world and asked to confute the lies that the Israelis spread and support Palestine protests. Mr. Mishal shed some light on the situation of Al-Aqsa Mosque by saying that the mosque has been at verge of collapsing since 1967 as the ultra right-wing parties came in power including the ones under the shadow of Netanyahu has been seeking opportunity to destroy Al-Aqsa. “Aqsa is our pride. It is the place where prophet Muhammed went for his “mi’raj”, a journey to the celestial world. Your brothers in Gaza have been fighting for Aqsa since last October 7. They called it “Thoofanul Aqsa” (Al-Aqsa storm)”.

While addressing the youth wing of Jamaat-e-Isami, Mr. Mishal stated that Israel, who was defeated as an army is taking their revenge by killing off innocent children of Gaza. He said half out of total 8000 killed by Israelis so far since the October 7 are children. He further added that the “powerful resistance against the Zionists will continue and that Palestine only yearns to live in peace free from occupation”. He pointed at United States and some of its “western allies cahooting with Israel green flagging the Zionist occupation forces’ demonic power”. During the address, he also prayed that “may God be with Aqsa and may he strengthen world support for the Palestine resistance”.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kerala State President, K. Surendran condemned the virtual participation of Hamas leader, whom he condoned as “terrorist organization”. Mr. Surendran questioned Kerala Police for the “unacceptable glorifying of Hamas”. Taking to X (formerly twitter), he lashed out at the “alarming” incident.

BJP has also condemned Congress MP Shashi Tharoor for participating in “pro-Palestine” rally organized by Indian Union Muslim League at Kozhikode.
