US Secretary Antony Blinken on Monday warned that Iran and Hezbollah might attack Israel within the next 24 to 48 hours. Following the killing of the top leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah last week, fear of a regional war has escalated.
Meanwhile, it is said that the Lebanese military group had launched a drone attack early on Monday on northern Israel that the Israeli military said wounded two Israeli troops, reports AP.

Ever since the beginning of the war in Gaza, Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged near-daily strikes. The last week’s assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran’s capital and Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukur in Beirut had sent the regional tensions soaring.
In response to the killing, Iran’s parliamentary Revolutionary Guard threatened Israel on Monday over the assassination of Haniyeh, warning that Israel was “digging its own grave” with its action against Hamas.
As per the recent development, the Ain al-Assad military base in western Iraq was attacked by rockets. This is the second time the Ain al-Assad military base has been attacked by rockets within 10 days.
Due to the surge of tension in the region, the United States is deploying more troops, warships, and carriers in the region.
The US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant said that the attack on US Forces “marked a dangerous escalation and demonstrated Iran’s destabilizing role in the region”.
Meanwhile, as per the report of Axions and Reuters, the US national security officials have told Biden and Harris that it is unclear when Iran and Hezbollah will launch a retaliatory attack against Israel.
The US intelligence suspects a scenario involving two waves of attacks- one from Hezbollah and one from Iran and several of its other proxies.
According to Axions, it is still unclear who is going to attack first and what kind of attack they are going to conduct.
Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has said to Russia’s RIA news agency that Haniyeh’s assassination was intended to prolong the war on Gaza and expand its scope.

He called the killing “a dangerous development in Israeli politics” and said the incident would have “a negative impact on the ongoing negotiations to end the aggressions”.
