Washington DC,  United States: US media have reported that President Donald Trump may delay the planned attack on Iran if he sees signs of a deal on the horizon.

Trump had warned of a complete demolition of Iran’s power plants and bridges in a matter of hours if the Strait of Hormuz is not fully reopened by Tuesday’s deadline.

Trump threatened to take out Iran in one night if it fails to make a deal before the deadline he set for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The US president had also expressed optimism stating that he believed “reasonable” leaders in Iran were negotiating in “good faith”, but the outcome remained uncertain.

However, Iran has rejected proposals for a temporary ceasefire, instead calling for a permanent end to the conflict and the lifting of sanctions.
