Tehran, Iran: Hours after US claimed it has successfully rescued the second pilot downed by Iranian defense force, Iran’s IRGC has stated that it has destroyed several US aircrafts involved in search and rescue operation for the downed US jet pilot.

IRGC spokesperson called the US operation a failure. Iranian state media had earlier reported that at least five people were killed and several flying objects were destroyed including a transport plane, during the US operation to rescue the downed fighter jet crew member.

Photos reportedly showed the charred remains of the downed C-130 plane at the site of a temporary forward operations base in Iran. Some other footage showed smoke billowing, reportedly from the site of a targeted and crashed aircraft.
