
Trump: Journalists Should Gain Access To See Gaza Humanitarian Efforts
President Donald Trump reportedly said to see journalists should be allowed to gain access to see humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza. Israel has not allowed foreign reporters to enter Gaza since the start of the Israeli war against Palestinians in October 2023, unless they are under Israeli military escort.
“I would like to see that happen”, Trump reportedly said in the Oval Office. “I would be very fine with journalists going. And it’s a very dangerous position to be in, as you know, if you are a journalist, but I would like to see it”, he said.

Israel has barred international media from covering the 22-month war in Gaza. News organizations rely largely on Palestinian Gaza residents and ingenuity to show the world the situation in Gaza. As per the reports, a total of 184 Palestinian journalists and media workers have been killed by Israel in Gaza since October 2023.
Agence France-Press, The Associated Press, Reuters, BBC News, and Al-Jazeera are among the organizations regularly reporting from Gaza.
Journalists from the Washington Post and the Guardian recently accompanied the Jordanian relief mission. The Guardian’s Lorenzo Tondo described Gaza as the ruins of an ancient civilization, brought to light after centuries of darkness.
Recently, five Al Jazeera journalists were killed by an Israeli strike in Gaza named Anas al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh, cameraman Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwas, and Mohammed Noufal. The target killing of the Journalist has drawn strong international condemnation. Deligates submitted a representation to the Israeli government on the safety of journalists in Gaza.

Moreover, as per Israeli local media reports, the Israeli army plans to call up around 80,000-100,000 reserve forces for a possible Gaza City occupation. Last week, Israel’s Security Cabinet approved PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to fully occupy Gaza City, drawing sharp criticism globally.
The Israeli daily Yedith Ahronoth said that further discussions will be held in the upcoming days about other details and the timetable of the operation, expected to last until the end of 2026.
