A 10-Minute Kiss Ruptured His Eardrum: Report
Something happened in China that has surprised everyone on the internet. A passionate kiss can affect your health, especially in this case, where it can rupture your eardrum if you engage in a 10-minute smooch.
On August 22, the official Chinese Valentine”s Day, a man was rushed to the hospital after suffering pain in his ears. The doctors later found that his eardrum was perforated. The man was told that it would take at least two months for him to recover, according to reports.
The incident happened beside the scenic West Lake in China”s eastern Zhejiang province.
Medics say, the Chinese Hangzhou TV reported, that passionate smooching can lead to a rapid change in air pressure inside the ear and this, combined with the heavy breathing of a partner, causes an imbalance leading to a puncture.
According to reports, this is not the first time something like this being reported from China.
News agency Reuters reported in December 2008 that a 20-something woman in Zhuhai, southern China, lost partial hearing in her left ear after her boyfriend”s passionate kiss ruptured her eardrum. The woman went to the hospital after the incident, and doctors said her hearing would likely return to normal within two or three months.
“The kiss reduced pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear,” a local newspaper quotes a doctor surnamed Li from the hospital as saying, according to the news agency. In this case as well, the woman”s hearing was also supposed to return to normal in two months.
