Cancer Battling Young Woman's Message Before Her Death Leaves LinkedIn Users In Retrospection

A message of a 25-year-old UK woman Daniella Thackray to her loved ones before her death caused by cancer has now created a wave of emotional discussions on the popular career platform LinkedIn. The message, that was published on the platform in which everyone is busy talking about their career and looking for fresh opportunities, left many to forget about their dreams and plans for a while.

Ms Thackray who had been battling cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer that develops in the bile ducts, prepared the message before her predicted death. The ailing woman in the message appealed to her loved ones to enjoy every little thing in life. “As I have always said and believed you should enjoy the little things in life and cherish every moment! Romanticise your life! Do whatever makes you happy and don’t let anyone take the joy of life away from you.”

The cancer-battling woman started her message by noting, “If you’re reading this then it means I have died from my battle with cancer and my family is posting my final message on my behalf.”

Speaking about her disease, Ms Thackray says that not all cancers are caused by the lifestyle and that her cancer was not caused by anything in her control. “Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare aggressive cancer with often no obvious causes and no cure. I really really do hope that in the years to come more research is done about this horrid cruel disease so that more lives can be saved,” she wrote.

On her death, Ms Thackray says she chose not to mourn the life she was losing despite being so devastated. But, she says she enjoyed every moment she had left, affirming that we don’t have control over what happens to us

“I LOVED my life. Everything I had achieved was what I wanted. I loved my job, my fiancé, my family, my friends and my dog, and the house we were going to buy and the future we were making for ourselves. Leo my fur baby was definitely brought into my life to help brighten my darkest days. LinkedIn Post, Tells Fiance To “Go Enjoy Life,” she wrote.

The woman also draws a quote by A.A. Milne in “Winnie the Pooh” and it reads, “If ever there is a tomorrow when we’re not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”

She also thanked her loved ones for making her life magical and advised them to enjoy every little thing. Mr Thackray however, ended her post by expressing her love to her fiancé Tom and asking him to enjoy the life he deserves. “And lastly to my dear, beautiful Tom, I love you and always will. Thank you for supporting me and bringing so much love and happiness into my life. Go enjoy your life now, you deserve it.”

However, the note by the diseased woman has triggered discussions on the purpose of the lives in the Platform. “I just turned 23 and have been stressed recently about the startup I”m building. I was just telling a friend how I need to move faster, do more things for the business etc. Your post came across my feed this evening and I stopped. I have given up so many fun activities and experiences to keep my head down, that I forget to look up at what’s around me. We all take so much in life for granted…” Sophie English Smith, a user wrote.

Another user Najeeb Khan wrote, “This heartfelt message touched me deeply. It”s a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment we have. Your strength and positivity in the face of such adversity are truly inspiring.” The post has been receiving thousands of comments from members ever since it was shared.
