Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, announced initiative to impart training in the use of AI and its applications for teachers in Dubai. The new initiative seeks to equip teachers with the knowledge to aid learners make most out of technological advancements including AI, as reported by Emirates News Agency – WAM.
As per the report, the top ten teachers who succeeded in showcasing the most innovative approaches in adapting AI technologies to enhance educational outcomes will be recognised with awards totaling AED1 million during the next edition of the AI Retreat on 29th April 2025. Hamdan also announced the move through his X (formerly twitter).

He said the move is to empower teachers with AI skills to enhance their professional capabilities and enrich the educational experience of the students. He added that the initiative is the embodiment of Dubai’s commitment in preparing the upcoming generation for the future.

“We aspire to make Dubai’s schools the best educational institutions in the world at leveraging AI solutions. Teachers are the backbone of our nation’s progress and development and are key enablers in realising Dubai’s vision for the future”, he said, as quoted by WAM.
Hamdan noted that with the introduction of the new tools, the education system across the world will see radical changes and unique learning environments based on augmented and virtual reality, as well as refreshed curricula supported by AI technologies in the coming years.

The teachers will receive both practical and online training, on using advanced applications and integrating AI tools to automate tasks and personalise learning experiences. The programme will include regular assessments to ensure the best outcomes and to achieve the desired long-term goals.
Notably, the initiative is overseen by Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), it also aligns with the goals of recently launched Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI).
