YouTuber IShowSpeed made himself subject to widespread criticism on social media for scaring off a baby on live stream. He appeared mortified by his own act for making the baby cry.

The YouTuber was streaming from Denmark when he approached a baby in a stroller and proceeded to challenge it to a competition. “English or Spanish? Whoever moves first is gay,” he told the infant, referencing the popular meme that has all over the social media platforms.

The baby unknowingly did a good job in holding himself up to the challenge, remaining perfectly still for a few moments. However, the little guy eventually moved his head, causing speed to roar triumphantly, frightening the baby.

Speed was taken aback and began to apologize profusely as the toddler started to cry, and his father moved the stroller away. He apologised multiple times. He repeated saying “I’m sorry”. “I made the baby cry. Damn, my fault”, he said.

A bit later, the father confronted Speed and delivered some strong words to the YouTuber. “You’re sick in the head, man, making a f**king baby cry. Is this how you make a living? Scaring the sh*t out of little kids?”, said the father.

Speed owned up the mistake and continued to take responsibility of his action. He insisted that it was an accident and that he wasn’t deliberately trying to make the baby cry.

Eventually, Speed had to leave the store. He kept explaining to his followers that it was his fault. This is the latest controversy on Speed’s list since he started his Europe Tour. Earlier he was attacked by a mob of Norwegian fans. He also had to plead with fans to stop damaging cars after he had to spend $50,000 out of his own pocket when swarms of viewers ended up damaging vehicles during his chaotic broadcasts.

The incident was shared by Andrew Tate, the American-British social media personality, and former professional kickboxer. Tate called it “Disgusting”. He said “these clowns are out of control”.

As of July 2024, Tate is facing four legal cases – two criminal and two civil – in Romania and UK, for his far-right misogynistic comments.

Reposting Tate’s tweet, Atul Kasbekar, Indian photographer and producer called Speed a “freak”. Siting the recent deaths of social media influencers while trying to take pictures online, he called them “unfortunate idiots”.
