Tech for Palestine exposes Israeli propaganda on IMDb (Internet Movie Database) platforms. The platform casted light on Israeli “documentaries” which reportedly showed the happenings of October 7th Hamas attack on Israel. In a blog post, it said Israel has branched out its propagandas to documentaries among several others they have been doing so far.
Tech for Palestine, a coalition of tech professionals who work to support Palestine, said Israel has branched out into documentaries to spread dehumanizing misinformation about Palestine, and it’s manipulating online platforms like IMDb to do it. It said there is a suspicious pattern to the ratings and reviews of such movies on IMDb.
Calling it a manipulative campaign, the techies pointed out that the film Screams Before Silence, although was released back in April, was bombarded with reviews on June 21, 22, and 23, “seemingly out of nowhere”.
The 57-minute long film is an Israeli attempt to give new life to the claims of mass sexual violence allegedly perpetrated by Palestinian resistance fighters on October 7th, said the blog.

However, like all other Israeli claims of sexual violence committed by Hamas on October 7th has been baseless. The film tries to push the story with hollow claims. It has been debunked. Even United Nations report, which appears largely slanting towards Israel’s point of view, said it could not find any credible evidence for these atrocity claims in the materials presented to it by Israel.
New York Times has tried hard to prove their claims on Hamas using sexual violence as a weapon on October 7th, but had to walk back their claims, leaving many question the credibility of the age old news outlet.
It said the more the reviews, the more movies will be pushed to the IMDb users, and the more people will buy into the propaganda.
The film has received waves of 10-star reviews, many posted on the same day months after the film’s release and with eerily similar language. Of its 140 reviews at the time of this writing, a whopping 121 (86%) of them give the highest possible rating, the blog pointed out.
The techies point out that spamming the movies with AI generated reviews is in fact manufacturing consent for Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
While calling out IMDb for its lack of thorough analysis of all the reviews, it also lists ways to counteract the Israeli propaganda in spreading fabricated stories.
Give the rating each movie actually deserve, downvote user reviews that appears AI generated, and report suspicious reviews, said Tech for Palestine.
Screams Before Silence, #Nova, Supernova, We Will Dance Again are some of such movies Israel has released claiming to be the documentary of October 7th Hamas attack.
