Israel Launches Pre-Emptive Strike On Iran: Khamenei Moved To Secure Location

Military tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply on Saturday after Israel confirmed it had carried out a pre-emptive strike on Iran, triggering explosions in Tehran and raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

According to official statements, Israel described the operation as a “preventive missile strike” aimed at countering what it called growing threats linked to Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.

In a significant development, Iranian media reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been moved from Tehran to a secure location following what was described as a joint US-Israel strike.

However, Israel has reportedly carried out strikes targeting areas close to the offices of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran, according to fresh media reports emerging now.

The strike follows repeated warnings from Israel and the United States that further action would be taken if Tehran continued advancing its military capabilities. The latest development comes months after Israel and Iran engaged in a 12-day air conflict last June.

Iranian media reported multiple explosions across Tehran, with missiles said to have struck areas including University Street and Jomhouri.

Thick plumes of smoke were also seen rising near Pasteur Street in the downtown part of the capital. Authorities have not yet released an official assessment of casualties or damage.

Meanwhile, Israel has declared a nationwide state of emergency, warning that retaliation from Iran in the form of missile and drone attacks could be imminent.

Air raid sirens sounded in several parts of the country. Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev announced that the country’s airspace has been closed to civilian flights. Schools and colleges have been shut, public gatherings banned, and employees advised to work from home.
