A woman from Kerala, Suchetha Satish has set the Guinness World Record by showing her singing talent in 140 languages during a Concert for Climate in Dubai, UAE, on November 24, 2023. She shared her performance on her Instagram handle, and captivates listeners for its diversity and musical excellence.
She wrote that she is happy to share the news that by God’s grace, she was able to “set a new Guinness World Record by singing in 140 languages in 9 hours, on November 24, 2023, during my concert by climate”. She thanked her followers for their “wishes and support”.

According to the Guinness World Record page, Suchetha Satish broke the record by performing in 140 languages to raise awareness about Climate Change held at Indian Consulate Auditorium in Dubai. The number 140 was selected to represent the 140 nations that attended the COP 28 summit which was held in Dubai.The languages represented the cultural diversity that was present at the COP 28 summit. There were total of 101 foreign languages and 39 Indian languages.
Indian name in Guinness record for singing is not new for the nation. Indian singer Asha Bholse was officially acknowledged for recording 11000 solo duets and chorus backed songs over 20 Indian languages since 1947. She was acknowledged by the Guinness World Record in 2011 as the most recorded artist in the history of music.
The one who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual is Afua Asantewaa Adounum, a Ghanaian lady. She set the record by exceeding previous record set by India’s Sunil Waghmare. Starting on December 24, 2023, she lasted five days and few hours by incorporating several positions such as standing, sitting, squatting and lying down.
