Meet 'Ju Ae', The Potential Heir Of North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un

The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un brought his teenage daughter to Beijing this week in her first public overseas outing, fueling further speculations of her being the potential successor of the family’s dynastic rule over the nuclear-armed state.

North Korea’s leader attended the massive military parade in China commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War 2, where the attention was grabbed by his teen daughter, who attended her first overseas public event on such a large scale.

However, Secretive North Korea has never revealed her name or age, but as per the South Korean intelligence agency, she is the daughter of Kim Jong Un, identified as Ju Ae by former American basketball player Dennis Rodman, who described holding her as a baby during his visit to North Korea in 2013.

Her first public appearance was made during the launch of the nuclear ballistic missile. Since then, she has been seen at various events, including military parades, public events, and even at the Russian embassy earlier this year.

The presence of Ju Ae at such a large and strategically public space is considered highly symbolic, as this was her first overseas official trip with him; also, Kim Jong Un never travelled with his father Kim Jong-il overseas on any official trip. Also, her launch as an international event is seen as unusual by the analysts as being a female and a potential heir of the dynasty, which has been led by male rulers in the past.
