The former First Lady of US, Michelle Obama is reported to be leading choice to replace current President Joe Biden. In the Rasmussen Reports polls, nearly half of the Democratic voters voiced that they would like to see someone else other than Joe Biden to run the US Presidential election.
Around 48 percent of Democrats said that they approve the party “finding another candidate to replace Joe Biden before the election in November”. 38 percent voted in disagreement. Only 33 percent of Democrats believe that there will be ballot shakeups.
About 20 percent of votes were gone in favour of Michelle Obama, among other options to replace the 81-year-old Joe Biden. Apart from Obama, other contenders were the Vice-President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of the State Hillary Clinton, Governor of California Gavin Newsom and Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer. While 15 percent voted for Kamala Harris, 12 percent called for a rematch between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Michelle Obama has been repeatedly called to consider running for the presidential election. Last month, the former First Lady voiced her deep fear regarding the upcoming elections. She said it “haunts” her. She said she feels like sometimes the democracy is taken for granted. She said it is the things that “keep me up”.
The 2023 US election has been long awaited, as it would see a possible rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Despite the concerns over Joe Biden’s advancing age, which was indicated to be an off-putting to voters by polls, the President asserted that he is the best qualified candidate for the election.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump insist that he will run despite possible criminal conviction before the election which theoretically could see him face decades in prison.
