Situated in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the eternal beauty named Taj Mahal is known as a testament of love. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal as a memorial of his wife Mumtaz. The monument houses the tomb of both Mumtaz and Shah Jahan. It is said that Taj Mahal is the hard work of 20,000 artisans who gave their sweat and blood to raise this perfectly symmetrical beauty.

Built in 1648, the monument is an exquisite blend of symmetry, domes and arches. The monument was announced a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. The recognition was for being the “jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage”.
