Trump Says Israel And Iran Seek Immediate Ceasefire, 'Negotiations Underway'
Washington DC, United States: US president Donald Trump has claimed that Israel and Iran are seeking immediate ceasefire as both exchange fire in fresh escalation in the ongoing conflict. In a social media post, Trump said Israel and Iran are pushing for a quick truce, with final peace negotiations underway.
The President said the US naval blockade stays in place until a final deal is achieved. The claim followed Iran’s missile attack on northern Israel in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Hezbollah sites in Beirut, and Israel’s response on Iranian military targets, though no major casualties reported.
This marks the worst clash since an April U.S.-brokered truce, as Trump urges restraint amid reports of tense talks with Netanyahu and mixed reactions from supporters hailing his diplomacy to skeptics doubting a quick end.
