Amplifying its support to Israel, the United States dispatched a second aircraft carrier to the eastern Mediterranean, on Friday. The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is on the way from Norfolk in Virginia and is heading towards the US military bases around the Middle East. The American navy confirmed that the carrier is on a “scheduled deployment” to engage with the US allies and partners in support of “maritime statecraft”.
Special operation forces are already deployed in assistance to the Israel’s military in planning and intelligence. The departure of fleet reflects the US concern over the escalating Israel-Hamas tensions and predicted cross-border advancement of the war. The Navy will primarily focus to establish a strong fencing presence that objects Hezbollah, Iran, Egypt, and others from taking advantage of the situation against Israel. The first shipment of additional weaponry arrived already in Israel support.
