Mahindra Unveils XUV 3XO’s Remote Climate Control And Smart Connectivity

Written by S Das

Mahindra has been stirring up excitement with its upcoming facelifted XUV300, now rebranded as the XUV 3XO. Set to debut on April 29, this subcompact SUV promises a host of updates, including a new feature teased by Mahindra: remote climate control accessible via smartphone.

The XUV 3XO, first introduced in 2018, is set for its first major upgrade, with significant cosmetic enhancements and new features in tow. One of the highlights is the introduction of a remote climate control system, allowing users to adjust cabin temperature from their smartphones. While this feature isn’t groundbreaking in its segment, with models like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon already offering it, it adds a layer of convenience and modernity to the XUV 3XO. This functionality is part of the AdrenoX Connect suite, developed in collaboration with Bosch, enabling seamless integration with smartphones and smartwatches for enhanced user experience.

In addition to remote climate control, the XUV 3XO is expected to receive a slew of upgrades, including projector LED headlamps and fog lamps, a larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a premium audio setup, and ventilated front seats. Safety features are likely to be bolstered with offerings such as electronic stability program, traction control, and possibly advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in higher trim levels.

Under the hood, Mahindra is anticipated to retain the current powertrain lineup for the XUV 3XO. This includes petrol engine options: a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 109 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, and a higher-spec 1.2-litre T-GDI mStallion turbo petrol unit delivering 128 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. For diesel enthusiasts, the XUV 3XO will likely offer a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 115 bhp power and 300 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are expected to include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT, with rumours hinting at the addition of an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic as an option.

Further, Mahindra’s future plans may include an all-electric version of the XUV 3XO, positioned below the existing XUV400 Pro. This move aligns with the industry trend toward electrification and underscores Mahindra’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

As Mahindra gears up to unveil the XUV 3XO with its array of enhancements, anticipation among enthusiasts and prospective buyers is palpable. With its blend of modern features, enhanced connectivity, and robust performance, the XUV 3XO aims to set new benchmarks in the subcompact SUV segment, offering consumers a compelling choice in the ever-evolving automotive landscape.
